Over the last couple of weeks there has not been many opportunities to get out fishing what with the high winds and cold weather. A week or so ago, we took advantage of one of the calmer days to introduce my son Noah to his first day out fishing. Along with his grandfather we took Noah out on a local trout fishery. He has been practicing his casting already on the grass, with a 3 ft fly rod top and a length of fly line.
On the water he was very determined and with the help of Grandad he eventually hooked a fish. The trout pulled him all over, and it was eventually netted after a great scrap. Only 2 and a half, the trout was possibly older than him!!
Noah loved the whole thing, and after a few pictures we returned the fish. It was about 3 lb and he has not stopped talking about it since. Grandad was quite pleased too.rj
