Feeders and Quivertips on film

Spent a great day filming with fishing guide Kevin Lyons of Melview Lodge in Longford towards end of last month.

On a day when the weather was wet and windy and not what we would normally hope for in August, Kevin took us to some of his favorite waters.

The Anglers View team were to accompany Kevin and a few of his UK visitors with the aim of capturing some decent footage of bream and tench fishing. We were not to be disappointed. [slideshow gallery_id=”16″]

Les Humphries, Phil Rogers and Tony Clawson have been regular visitors to Ireland and well used to the difficult conditions. They are all seasoned match anglers and had prepared and baited swims on a couple of small lakes the day before. After getting their gear set up all 3 went at it hammer and tongs with spectacular results.

Using quivertips and fishing feeders with worms and maggots the 3 anglers had impressive mixed bags of bream and tench with tench to 4lb and bream to 5lb. The level of preparation and angling skills were quite something to watch. Lets hope the footage does it justice.

My next outing looks like it will take us to Cork coast for some end of summer Shark fishing. Weather permitting of course. Fingers crossed. rj
